Deia Elwadi is a Buffalo-based poet and self-proclaimed “Soulfood Sudanese,” born of both Southern Black roots and North Sudanese heritage. Her poetry rises from this paradox, unfiltered and deeply human. Through words, she confronts silence, explores taboos, and honors the bloodlines she carries.
