Join Green Cambridge for a walk in the Alewife using Cornell's e-bird! Help monitor the migration of birds while enjoying nature.

Green Cambridge is hosting our first ever E-birding event in the Alewife!

Join Green Cambridge for a guided walk in the reservation using Cornell University's E-bird, this project lets birders from around the globe submit observations that help track migration and inform conservation efforts.

Event Details:

  • Event: E-birding in the Alewife Reservation
  • Location: DCR Parking lot, 2-8 Acorn Park Dr, Cambridge, MA 02140
  • Date: March 13, 2026 from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM(Eastern Time)

We will also be using Cornell's Merlin Bird ID app to identify species. Instructions on how to use both apps will be provided but we encourage volunteers to download the apps beforehand and look over the provided instructions below! (E-bird in particular has a very informative introduction guide on submitting observations.)
