Come join Inside Fashion Design and Creative Capital design for a rare opportunity to hear from multi-disciplinary industry experts.

We will start of with an hour of food and beer provided by 10 Barrel Brewing Co. There will also be an exhibit showcasing the panelists work. After the panel discussion there will time for Q & A and time permitting, some meet and greet with the panelist. A wonderful opportunity to network, meet like minded folks and recah beyond your current community- also go home with some SWAG!

Sonia Kasparian- Urchin

Sonia creates bespoke couture bridal and evening gowns. Her methods are unusual in that she designs and creates one of a kind highly tailored pieces specifically for clients using not only new fabric, but if requested, from their own heirloom pieces. Taking the essence of the history of a piece and reinventing it to reflect how it relates to another generation of bride.

Sonia graduated in 1985 from Otis Parsons School of Design in LA, and was designer of the year in her class. She worked in the surf and action sport industry for many years with different brands: Quiksilver, Roxy, Nike, O'Neill, and then by accident created the brand Urchin. She was recently awarded the Portland Fashion and Style Awards award for Best Women's Wear designer, for the second year in a row.

Trish Langman- Spoogi
Textile artist and designer, and educator, Tricia Langman, has over eighteen years of experience designing for prestigious fashion companies worldwide, including Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Halston, Kashiyama, Donna Karan, Nike, Anthropologie, Banana Republic and Target. Her work has been featured at the Met’s Costume Institute, and she recently created a limited edition collection for Pendleton Home as part of their guest artist series. Langman is founder and owner of Spoogi, a successful international print design studio.

Mark Lewman- Principle at Nemo Design

Mark is also a creative consultant for Dickhouse, the production company responsible for Jackass, Wildboyz, Rob and Big. He also writes stunts/pranks for Jackass and Wildboyz. In 2010 we created The Birth of Big Air, a documentary about Mat Hoffman. It was part of ESPN's 30 for 30 series of films.

Chris Linn- Bora Architect

Chris Linn is a Principal at Bora Architects, renowned as a leader in the creation of beautiful, high-performing learning environments. For 30 years he has been passionately incorporating community outreach and sustainability into his design work, and he has been instrumental in realizing several of Oregon’s most transformative school projects. Chris was lead designer for the nationally-lauded Faubion School – a unique partnership that collocated Concordia University’s College of Education, Trillium Family Services, and Kaiser Permanente in a single PK-8 public school. Other significant projects include the recently completed 330,000 sf Mountainside High School in Beaverton, OR, and the LEED Platinum Vernonia K-12 School in Vernonia, OR, which has become the centerpiece of this small rural community. Chris holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California.

Matthew Rhoades- MatteLab

Matt is one of the most accomplished and respected design minds in the Pacific Northwest. As a veteran of several global design studios and former Nike Global Creative Director, Matthew’s award-winning career encompasses more than two decades, 40+ patents, 6 world records, and multiple global design awards. Achievement highlights include an IDEA Gold Metal, a Newsweek “Product of the Year,” and designing the Trek Y-Bike, named “Third most influential mountain bike of all time.” His experience transcends traditional industrial design products, encompassing digital (UI/UX), brand strategy, cutting-edge innovation, new business strategy, and overall design excellence.
