How to encourage the good, discourage the bad and punish the ugly?
The panel discussion will cover both sides of the coin: the good and bad sides of algorithmics and Big Data. What should we do to encourage the good and prevent the bad? Should we prohibition the use of algorithms we don’t fully understand? Ban companies that aren’t transparent about how they use personal data? Or should we leave everything as it is, because the problem is too complex?

The programme will be finalized with the presenting of three awards:

  • The Gerrit van Dijk Prize for the best thesis in Data Science
  • The Anthony Fokker Prize for startups
  • The Hendrik Lorentz Prize for companies and governments
