About this event
Calling all SMARTPHONE FILMMAKERS.
If you want to engage an audience, then video is by far the best way to grab and hold those eyeballs, and gimbals have made the process of capturing silky smooth footage so much easier IF you do things right.
The Dublin smartphone film festival have teamed up with ZHIYUN to deliver a gimbal workshop. Regardless of what brand of Gimbal you're toting, Keith Kennedy will have some invaluable advice on best practise to use it to its full advantage. He will cover all angles from run-and-gun Mobile Journalism (MoJo) to full cinematic rigs, with tips on configuring your phone or camera and time set-aside for a Q&A afterwards to pick through the details of your really awkward queries!
The workshop will be hosted in the MART GALLERY on the 3rd of June has part of the Dublin Smartphone Film Festival 2023. As well as seeing gimbals in action, Keith will have a number of video case-studies to show them in real-world action
Workshop will begin at 1.00 PM.
There will be a small charge of 5 euro to take part.

The Dublin Smartphone Film Festival or DUBSMARTFF for short is Irelands only International Film Festival dedicated to celebrating work shot on Smartphones and Tablets. No longer is expensive technology a barrier to creativity. The mobile phone has expanded the scope and freedom for filmmakers, providing limitless possibilities in the palm of your hand
We are hosting a series of workshops around the country to encourge people to get out and make films using their mobile phones. We had our first workshop nearly 2 years ago, people kept asking us for help because they saw their phones as a filmmaking device they understood. Although needed was some basic tools to get them started.
The Workshops have been running for nearly 2 years now and the response has been overwhelming. The great thing is anyone who attends gets to be put in a room with like minded creatives all creating on their phones. The results are incredible
