Description

The Power of the Short Story. Sarah M. Chen, Travis Richardson and Stephen Buehler formed a writers group six years ago, and meet practically every Thursday night. In the past five years, between the three of them, they have had over 50 short stories published. It has boosted their profiles and careers. Join them at the Tapa Bar, and they will buy the first round of drinks and discuss writing the short story, finding short story markets, and how it can help with your own writing career. Each guest will also receive a book from one of the authors.



Travis Richardson has been a finalist for the Macavity, Anthony, and Derringer short story awards. His novella LOST IN CLOVER was listed in Spinetingler Magazine’s Best Crime Fiction of 2012. His second novella, KEEPING THE RECORD, came out in 2014. He has published stories in crime fiction anthologies like JEWISH NOIR and 44 CALIBER FUNK and in publications such as Thuglit, Shotgun Honey, Flash Fiction Offensive, and All Due Respect. Sarah M. Chen juggles several jobs including indie bookseller, transcriber, and insurance adjuster. She has published over twenty crime fiction short stories with Shotgun Honey, Crime Factory, Betty Fedora, Out of the Gutter, and Dead Guns Press, among others. Stephen Buehler’s short fiction has been published in numerous on-line publications including, Akashic Books. His Derringer Nominated short story, Not My Day appeared in the Last Exit to Murder anthology. Seth’s Big Move will appear in the Last Resort Anthology in April 2017. He is currently revising his novella, The Mindreading Murders, into novel length. He is also seeking a home for his mystery/comedy P.I. novel, Detective Rules.
