Dreams and Miracles: Shabbat and Hanukkah Weekend of Recovery
Overview
This Shabbat, we gather in the glow of Shabbat and Hanukkah—two lights that remind us that hope is most powerful when shared.
In Miketz, Yosef’s journey from darkness to light begins with a dream and ends in renewal. His story, alongside the Hanukkah miracle, invites us to look inward, to cultivate faith through action, and to trust that small sparks can become lasting light.
14Y Selah, in partnership with the Mid-Island Y JCC, invites you to a weekend of ritual, learning, and creativity designed to help us recognize the miracles already unfolding in our lives.
Weekend Schedule:
🕯 Friday, December 19 | 6:00–8:30 PM
Shabbat Dinner: Dreams and Miracles
Celebrate Shabbat and Hanukkah with song, reflection, and a kosher, family-style meal. Together we’ll explore what it means to bring light into our relationships and recovery.
🌅 Saturday, December 20 | 3:30–6:30 PM
Hanukkah Retreat: Learning, Skill-Building, and Connection
A hands-on afternoon of reflection and practice. We’ll learn from Jewish teachings on resilience, build a practical skill for mindful living, and close with a communal candle lighting and Havdalah ceremony.
✨ Families are warmly welcomed and encouraged. Childcare is available both days, and all meals are kosher and vegetarian-friendly.
