Dreaming The Upside-Down Tree

Join us at The Open Kitchen Sculpture Garden to get a first glimpse of our exciting new project Dreaming The Upside-Down Tree! You are receiving this invitation because we want you specifically (yes, you!) to experience this first iteration. We feel you have something valuable to offer the growth and development of this project!

ABOUT THE EVENING:

You enter the event space through the lush sensory environment of The Open Kitchen Sculpture Garden. You are invited to record sounds, words, and stories that will become the musical score for the piece; you may experience this piece in any way you choose. Using Ableton software, Tyler Leif Catanella and Taylor Burgess transform the recorded samples in real time into music— coughs become drum beats, yawns become melodies, heartfelt messages bloom into lyrics. A cast of performers (Sarah Sanford, Michale (Dola) Amendola, and Lyra Butoler Denman along with a chorus)create character and movement in response to these sounds and turn your recordings into embodied images and stories. The event ends in a dance party, followed by a meal and conversation.

This event is by invitation only and seats are limited, so please RSVP by reserving your ticket!
