Dream On, Dreamer - A Blues-Inspired Story Slam [In Person Event]

Join us for Dream On, Dreamer — a live Blues-inspired Story Slam that invites parents, teachers, and the big kid in all of us to gather and share stories about the beauty and blues of growing up and raising children.

That's right, nine courageous storytellers will compete for prizes, sharing true stories of the joys and struggles of being a child — and raising children — across three categories: Birth Story, Incidents with Kids and Animals, and Nightmares. All those messy, tender, transformative moments that shape family and identity.

Inspired by The Boy Who Could Not Dream, a children’s book about a boy and his first harmonica, this event brings the blues into storytelling — raw, real, and full of soul.

It’s where grown folks crack open the moments that shaped them — the chaos of raising kids, the fire of being one, and all the scraped knees, deep sighs, and gut laughs in between.
