Join us for an exclusive in-person half-day workshop for learning about, and making, a dream art journal in a beautiful nature setting: The Lodge at Kennydell Park, in Olympia Washington. The workshop will include both didactics and hands-on opportunities.

We'll begin by learning a bit of theory about Dream Tending and reasons to engage with dreams via art and other creative processes. Then, participants will be guided through different ways of creating a journal, and leave with a unique dream book, ready for engaging with dreams and imagination. Time will also be spent creating the first entry.

Blank composition notebooks will be provided, or bring your own base journal (a mixed media art notebook will work if you want to paint), and the rest of the materials will be provided (mixed media notebooks will be available for purchase if desired).

  • Confidentiality: You may share your own experience with others outside of Dream Create, but what others share and the identity of others will be kept confidential.
  • Respect: The facilitator reserves the right to refuse service or terminate immediately if you threaten, bully or berate the facilitator or group members.
  • Community Safety: Masks are encouraged but not required. If you have been around someone who has been ill or work in a healthcare setting and do not mask, you agree to wear a well-fitting k95 or higher rated to protect our community. Extra masks will be provided for those that need them. A well-rated air purifier will be in the space we are using.

More information about the venue

Kennydell Park is a small park located on the beautiful Black Lake in Olympia and hosts 40 acres of trails, freshwater beach in a lush nature-setting. The Lodge is a small, heated, ADA accessible cabin near the front (right side entrance) of the park.

Where to park

As you approach the park, take the entrance on the right side. You can park here and walk to the Lodge (see map) or drive around the one-lane loop and park opposite the lodge (space permitting). Overflow parking is located across the street (on the left entrance). Parking is free.

Will lunch be provided?

As this is a half-day workshop, lunch will not be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring snacks/lunch and a non-alcoholic beverage or water bottle. There is a fridge and microwave onsite. There will be a 15-minute break approximately half-way through so that participants can eat.

What do I bring?

Please bring a composition notebook or mixed media art notebook (your choice), and any special art supplies you prefer. Basic supplies will be provided (collage materials, glue, scissors, etc.). Please bring lunch/snacks and a mask if needed (see terms). And bring a dream and your imagination!

Refunds: What to know

Full refunds (minus Eventbrite fees) will be granted up until two days (48 hours) prior to the event. Any refund request within 48 hours of the event will be granted at 50%. No refunds given for no-shows. Because all reasons for cancelling are valid, this policy applies regardless of the reason.
