Drawing with PASTEL PENCILS - Ways to Draw and Paint (WTDP180)

We’ll see some basic characteristics about pastel pencils, I'll show some examples of drawing done with this media, then I will make a short demo on my camera about how to use them, sharpen them and also do some color mixing. We will see some examples of artworks done with this media. Afterwards I'll share some reference images to draw from during the rest of the time. You can open your mic to ask questions during the class.

For this new class you need to have some pastel pencils, so grab the ones you already have. Or, if you have to buy, just get a sepia pencil, a sanguine one OR a black pencil. After this workshop you can get some others in case you need or want to. If you have regular color pencils instead, it's no problem! You can use them too this time.

Have a couple of white sheets of drawing paper, A4 size will be OK, and much better if this paper has some sort of soft texture. (Canson Mis-teintes is a nice paper to draw on with soft pastels or pencils). You might need an eraser, too (kneaded and a regular one) and a good sharpener special for this pencils, or a blade cutter.
