About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 15 minutes

Charcoal is one of the simplest and noblest artistic materials that we can use to draw. There are many ways to apply it, although in this class it will be the simplest way. Charcoal smudges, smears, can be blended and erased easily. There will be a brief intro about how to use the material and some examples. Then you will draw after some photographic references during the rest of the time. This is not a demonstration class. It’s not recorded previously.

You need to have some drawing paper - several pages, A4 to A3 size, some regular charcoal (not compressed), from diameters 0.5 to 1 cm/0.2 to 0.4 inch, a piece of cotton cloth to clean, a kneaded eraser.

There will be a second part to this class, as a complementary process. (WTDP172-B)

At the end, if you please, you can share your work on screen or thru email. The vacancies are only a few per session.

NOTE: It's unusual that i cancel a class, but, IF I SHOULD EVER POSTPONE OR CANCEL A CLASS, I WILL RE-SCHEDULE THE EVENT FOR ANOTHER DAY or you can choose to get a full refund. I know you´'ll understand.

I'm doing a series of Drawing and Painting Classes on Zoom which I call WAYS TO DRAW AND PAINT - WTDP - , with diverse subjects as still lifes, landscapes, animals, portraits and the whole human figure and also we work with different materials (graphite, charcoal, watercolors, colored pencils, pastels, tempera-gouache, oil, acrylics, collage and more. Some are stand alone classes, some others are weekly courses. These classes are in English language are intended mostly for beginning students, otherwise it will be announced as for intermediate/advanced students.
