In these workshops we will analyze some well known work of art, see some elements of the visual language it contains and how they are all put together to make the composition. This activity is divided in two parts. On the first class will study the structures, main shapes, proportions then we will draw the image. You can draw trying to get some of these important details on your page, doing your own interpretation.
On the second event, we will proceed to paint it. So we will analize the colors, the values, and I will show on my camera how to make color mixes with paint. Again, you can attach more to the refference or do your own interpretation.
On the first event we will draw. Have some canvas/ canvas paper or any surface already primed so as to later paint. If you want to only study the image first, have some drawing paper (8x12 inches up to 12 x 16 in) for the first class then you can prepare the image to have it ready for the second event, when we will be painting. I suggest using vine/willow charcoal, a mid tone colored pencil to do the drawing.
For the second event, you will receive a list o possible materials on an email. You can paint with some waterbased paint i.e. acrylics or, better, gouache.

WAYS TO DRAW and Paint are a series of art classes online, especially for beginners and anyone who wants to learn different ways of drawing and painting, since there isn't only one, as there isn't only one way to do things in life. In these classes we experiment with different media: (i.e. graphite, colored pencils , pastels, charcoal, ball and fountain pens, markers, gouache, acrylics, etc.) or we study some specific subjetc or practise some drawing or painting technique.
The meetings are in English but you can practise some Spanish language.
