Drake University Flute Day

This event is geared toward high school students and anyone who loves the flute; all are welcome. Enjoy workshops, performances, and networking with fellow flute enthusiasts. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of flute music!

• 9 am: Check-in; practice rooms are available for warming up.
• 9:45-10:45 am: Flute Choir Reading Session with Flutist Elizabeth Robinson. Bring flutes, piccolos, and low flutes and enjoy! - Harmon Fine Arts Center - Monroe 004
• 11-11:50 am: Flute Choir Rehearsal with Elizabeth Robinson. Bring flutes, piccolos, and low flutes. Music rehearsed in this session will be performed in the closing recital. - Sheslow Auditorium
• Noon-12:30 pm: lunch – pizzas will be provided – Lobby of Sheslow
• 12:30-1:30 pm: Flute Day Recital with Flute Day Choir, Des Moines Flute Choir, plus solo and chamber works - Sheslow Auditorium
• 1:45-2:30 pm: Basics of Flute Repair and Maintenance with Flutist and Repair Expert Keith Hanlon - Turner Jazz Center
• 2:45-4:00 pm: Audition Tips and Tricks - SCIBA, All State & any auditions Coaching with a panel of local flutists - Monroe: Those who will be auditioning for SCIBA & All State: bring your flutes, solos, theEtudes, and Scales. Those who will not be auditioning, bring flute and scales, plus any audition materials.

• 2:45-4:00 pm: Elizabeth Robinson – Drake University Flute Studio Master Class - Turner Jazz Center

*Pizza will be provided for lunch in the lobby of Sheslow Auditorium or you may eat on your own.
