Overview

The Repair Café movement comes to Michigan! Bring your things to repair, or your skills to repair things.

If something breaks, or doesn't work quite right, do you throw it away and buy another? No! But if you put it aside to fix "someday," does it ever get fixed?

Bring things to repair. Volunteers repair many items for no charge. You might be asked to provide parts. And volunteers can suggest where you can find the parts. You will also have the opportunity to learn the repair techniques, so you can be the 'expert' in future.

If you know how to repair bicycles, lamps, sweaters, furniture, computers, small appliances, etc., come share your knowledge and help others learn how to make some repairs themselves. Volunteers may bring in items to repair as well--you should be able to work in shifts.

What can be repaired depends on what skills and tools the volunteers have.

And, as a Café, there will be refreshments.

Usually scheduled on the second Saturday of every month when Knapp Branch is open (September-May). If you register, by phone or on Eventbrite, we will be able to notify you if we need to reschedule or move to another location.
