DOUBLEPLAY—a celebratory collision of art, sports, Dodgers fandom, and pure creative joy—brings together artists Pat Riot and Billy Kheel at Eastern Projects (Oct 11–Nov 22, 2025). Featuring Riot’s chewed bubble-gum portraits and Kheel’s hand-sewn felt tapestries, the vibrant, sports-inspired show celebrates humor, heart, and Dodgers spirit in a playful fusion of art and athletics. Complimentary drinks will be served.

The duo first connected over their shared love of the Dodgers—specifically one of the most unforgettable celebrations in team history: the legendary Crotch Bump. Much like the unforgettable collision between Gavin Lux and Kiké Hernández, Kheel and Riot come together in an exuberant celebration of sports—from baseball to basketball—with a deep, playful dive into Dodgers fandom, its rich culture, storied history, and the legendary figures who’ve worn the blue.

Join us Saturday, November 22 for the Closing Reception and Artist Meet & Greet with Billy Kheel and Pat Riot. Celebrate the final inning of this unforgettable show—and the Dodgers’ 2025 World Series victory—with complimentary drinks, good energy, and great art.

Pat Riot, often dubbed a “non-media specific” artist, turns to an iconic dugout staple for this show: chewed bubble gum. From chewed remnants, he creates pointillist-style portraits that are as playful as they are nostalgic—recalling the sticky rituals of clubhouses and the faded glow of baseball cards.

Billy Kheel transforms felt—the classic material of pennants and uniforms—into large-scale, hand-sewn tapestries. Combining sports card graphics with lush floral patterns, Kheel reframes athletes as both mythic icons and deeply human figures, blending heroism with heart.

DOUBLEPLAY promises surprise, humor, and a healthy dose of irreverence in a world where sports have grown increasingly corporate and predictable.
