About the Experts
Sara Acheson, PT, DPT, OCS, CLIT-UE, CES
Sara is passionate about empowering women through all stages of cancer treatment and recovery. Her journey into breast cancer rehabilitation began in 2017 while pursuing her Upper Extremity Lymphedema Certification. Frustrated by the conventional approach that often focused solely on lymphedema, Sara sought to deepen her understanding of how treatments impact the movement system, leading her to complete an Upper Extremity Athlete Fellowship. She went on to earn her pelvic floor certification, enabling her to assist patients in managing the changes brought on by medically induced menopause.
Sara champions a holistic treatment philosophy, addressing both the physical and mental well-being of her patients. Recognizing that cancer treatment affects the entire body, her goal is to help patients fully recover their quality of life, rather than simply managing common side effects. She has dedicated her career to providing proactive, evidence-based care, empowering women to regain strength, confidence, and control.
Stephanie Stahr, PT, DPT
Becoming a parent sparked Stephanie’s interest in pelvic health, a passion that grew while living abroad in Germany. There, she experienced a different model of pre- and post-partum care, which inspired her to deepen her training. Upon returning to the U.S., she completed specialized training through the Herman & Wallace Institute and has practiced pelvic health since.
She is dedicated to reshaping the conversation around women's health, challenging the widespread belief that common issues like pelvic pain, bladder problems, constipation, and dysfunction from hormonal shifts during aging, pregnancy, and postpartum are simply "normal”. Stephanie's core belief is that these conditions should not compromise a woman's quality of life, and she empowers women to actively understand and improve their symptoms.
