This training draws from the CalMHSA 2023 Clinical Documentation Guide to cover the California laws and procedures that apply to Medi-Cal billing by Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialists (MPSS). It is applicable for certified MPSS, Non-Certified Peer Support Specialists (PSS), and Non-Certified Peer Partner/Family Partners (PP/FP) in their roles serving people with behavioral health challenges and their family members.
The specifics of your usage of this training depends upon the requirements of your county and state. This training includes the requirements of Alameda County Behavioral Health (ACBHD) as an example of county billing requirements. Your county's requirements may vary.
Certified MPSS who complete this 7-hour training may obtain 6 Continuing Education Units towards their recertification as MPSS.
Held on the fourth Monday of each month. The full training time includes two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute meal break.
