DISSERTATION TITLE:

WHO REALLY CARES? Examining Violence, Illiteracy, Non-Active Fathers, and Low Self-Esteem as Agents of Constructive Genocide Among Black Males in America Ages 12-26

ABOUT THE RESEARCH:

This study explores how treating households—not individuals—as the unit of change can interrupt cycles of violence. Families from Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha, Wisconsin participated in this research, validating a four-pillar approach to sustainable community transformation.

THE FOUR PILLARS:

Solid Foundation Certification (SFC) - Personal development before technical skills

Standing on Business (SoB) - Economic empowerment through entrepreneurship

Eatz & Learn (E&L) - Household nutrition and education through family meals

Becoming The Best Dad (BTBD) - Structured father engagement and co-parenting

This dissertation brings academic rigor to over 20 years of community-led violence prevention work. The findings validate what communities have known: sustainable change happens at the household level.
