Description

Please join SVA Theatre & NewFest for a special advance screening of the new documentary, Do I Sound Gay?, followed by a Q&A with the film's director, David Thorpe.

Presented by IFC Films, Do I Sound Gay? is about the stereotype of the "gay voice" and includes interviews with Margaret Cho, Tim Gunn, Dan Savage, David Sedaris, and George Takei. The film was an official selection of many festivals, including DOCNYC and the Toronto International Film Festival. It will be released in theatres on July 10th, 2015. Running time: 77 minutes.

Do I Sound Gay? is not rated by the MPAA and may not be suitable for young children. We ask parents not to bring children under the age of twelve.

Ticket Information

If you received an access code, please click "Enter Promotional Code" above and enter the code you received to RSVP. This event is only open to those who received a ticket access code, including SVA students/faculty/staff. You may bring up to two guests per person.

Eventbrite RSVPs are required, but do not guarantee you a seat. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will open at approximately 6:15PM.

Concessions Information

Concessions are not available for purchase at SVA Theatre. Guests are welcome to bring food and drink. Glass bottles are not permitted.
