Is your work represented in the Chicago Artist Files at Harold Washington Library? Are you a Chicago arts lover with boxes of postcards, pamphlets, and booklets from shows you've attended over the years? We welcome you to drop off those materials to add to the archives or to start your own artist/space/curator/collective file.

While we strongly encourage that you bring materials that don't need digitization and can be donated directly, LATITUDE | Chicago will be providing a DIY archiving station with a computer, 8.5” x 11” flatbed scanner, and volunteer assistant to support in digitizing documents, film, artworks or photographic prints, in case you want copies of the files you're donating for your own keeping. Artists of all creative backgrounds are invited to the archiving station to create their very own artist file for the Chicago Artist Files at Harold Washington Library as well as walk away with their newly digitized file(s).

In addition, LATITUDE’S Lab Technician, Alex Wieder, will be holding 10 individual consultations on storing, managing, and archiving large projects from 11AM - 2PM.

Please note: LATITUDE will only be able to scan up to 10 items per person in order to serve as many artists as possible throughout the day. We will have a first come, first serve sign up sheet when you arrive and we will help people in that order. While you wait, there's plenty to do! Take a look at the lineup of workshops, panels, and performances that you can check out while you wait.
