Divided Tables Workshop
Overview
The holidays can bring joy, gratitude, and sometimes tension. In a time of deep political and social division, even the most loving families and friendships can feel strained when difficult topics arise around the dinner table. Whether you dread heated debates or uncomfortable silences, this workshop will help you show up differently.
Join Licensed Professional Counselors Liz Illick and Nancy Garrison for an evening of community, reflection, and practical tools to foster peace and connection in even the most divided spaces.
We’ll share a light meal and gather around divided tables—intentionally mixed groups designed to practice connection and empathy in real time. Expect interactive discussion, gentle self-reflection, and laughter alongside new insights.
Together, we’ll explore:
- Staying calm and grounded during difficult conversations
- Recognizing and regulating your body’s stress responses
- Setting healthy boundaries with compassion
- Listening for understanding rather than persuasion
- Reconnecting with shared values and shared humanity
You’ll leave with:
- A personalized pocket strategy card
- Practical take-home tools
- A deeper awareness of your triggers and strengths
- A renewed sense of hope for connection this holiday season
This gathering will take place at The Nest, a cozy private home in Glenwood Springs. Registered participants will receive the exact address prior to the event.
