Distinguished Lecture Series

The Cancer Center is proud to welcome American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) 2025-2026 President Lillian L. Siu, MD, FRCPC, to the Distinguished Lecture Series as the featured speaker on January 21, 2026.

Her presentation will focus on expanding the current scope of precision oncology with novel therapeutics, technologies and clinical trial design. This includes utilizing novel ways to interrogate molecular targets, deploying modern technologies beyond next-generation sequencing, and employing innovative clinical trials that learn iteratively from patient-intrinsic and extrinsic data.

We hope you can join us for this in-person event at Moss Auditorium in the College of Medicine Research Building (COMRB) on the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) campus. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto in Canada, she is a senior medical oncologist, director of the Phase 1 Clinical Trials Program, co-director of the Robert and Maggie Bras and Family Drug Development Program, clinical lead for the Tumor Immunotherapy Program, and the BMO Chair in Precision Cancer Genomics at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University Health Network in Toronto.

Throughout her career, she has made significant contributions to anticancer drug development and to translational and clinical research. Her innovative research dedicated to optimizing clinical trial design and execution has resulted in the accelerated discovery and development of novel immunotherapeutics and molecularly targeted therapeutics for patients with head and neck cancers, as well as gastrointestinal malignancies.
