About this event

A group of young artists stuck inside. An endless storm. A monstrous creation.

It is the year without a summer.

A young woman named Mary Shelley finds herself locked in a house amongst friends & lovers during a raging thunderstorm. When their host Lord Byron suggests a scary story contest, he inadvertently resurrects the group’s monstrous interpersonal drama – and sparks something in Mary that will change literature forever.

In this immersive live performance, you are a silent ghost, following Mary, Byron, & their fellow Romantic poets through a liminal space between the 19th century & the 21st. Scenes play simultaneously in different spaces. Each performance, you construct your own unique vision of the maelstrom of creativity, grief, & betrayal that gave birth to Frankenstein.

Step into the Lab

This Halloween Weekend is your opportunity to witness an early version of the show – to say you were there when the creature opened its eye.

The lab presentation will be the animated bones of the experience that Disremembrance could be, with muscle, sinew, & skin to come later.
