Disability Justice and the Dharma
Overview
Join Sangha Is All (SanghaIsAll.org) as we explore one of Sins Invalid’s 10 brilliant Disability Justice principles each month.
In the US, ideas about, attitudes toward, and accommodations for differences in ability due to chronic illness, neurodivergence, genetic variations, mental illness, medical accident, and many other causes have long been evolving and, as seen today, can shift with the political winds. Weathering these storms in a disabled body requires many skills, including self-awareness, resilience, and self-love. We seek to enhance our connection to these and other skills in disabled persons and their friends, families, and caretakers, by exploring Sins Invalid's 10 Principles of Disability Justice in the context ancient and contemporary wisdom as well as the shared experiences of our bodies and lives.
Each session (schedule below) will include a guided meditation, Sangha Is All’s reflections on connections between that month’s principle and Buddha dharma both ancient and contemporary, and community sharing time. You are free to attend one, some, or all sessions of this series.
Community is central to everything Sangha Is All offers -- our wisdom and liberation are cultivated and supported by what each of us brings. While beings considered "disabled" will be centered in this experience, individuals of all capacities are invited to participate.
There is no paywall; everything offered by Sangha Is All is freely open to everyone. Dana will be accepted when offered at the event.
