Dinner & Dialogue brings together students, seminarians, staff, and faculty from across the university community who might not otherwise engage together for a shared meal and student-facilitated conversation in an informal, fun setting. By bringing our community together, Dinner & Dialogue sets out to build collective capacity to sustain meaningful conversations that foster mutual understanding and contribute to a culture of healthy dialogue at Sewanee. We hope you join us!

Our Spring 2023 program centers our four university values: community, inquiry, flourishing, and courage. Our final Dinner & Dialogue will explore how we live out our value of Courage.

As a parameter, we ask that "whoever comes must come with someone who is not like them." Participants are then invited to RSVP in pairs. Attending with "someone not like you" is intentionally left open and broad. Examples may include a student inviting a faculty member, inviting some with a different social group affiliation, inviting some one from another country or state, among many possibilities. Please RSVP by Friday, April 21, 2023.

Please know the length of the event allows for a shared mail and the opportunity for depth to discussion. We ask that you arrive promptly at 5:15 pm and be able to attend the entire event.
If you RSVP and your plans change, please let us know so that we may accommodate another guest in your place. "No shows" may be moved to the back of the queue when signing up for future events. Canceling your reservation also helps us minimize food waste.
Reservations are made on a first come, first serve basis. Should capacity fill, a waitlist will be generated. If placed on the waitlist, we will contact you should tickets become available.
To allow as many different members of campus community to participate, we ask that you only attend two Dinner & Dialogue this semester until others have had a chance to sign up.

Background: Dinner & Dialogue events were started in 2013 by students who wanted to recreate the "porchlight" culture that existed in Sewanee's past. Dinner & Dialogue creates an environment that is warm and welcoming so that it encourages deep conversations and connections.
