Join us for a meaningful evening of community, connection, and education, aimed at enhancing our collective understanding and capability in mental health crisis intervention. This event, organized by the Mental Health Awareness Training Grant at Preferred Family Healthcare Prevention, offers a unique opportunity to explore critical components of mental health support and crisis management in our community.
At the heart of the evening will be an in-depth discussion on the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. With representatives from Burrell and Mark Twain Behavioral Health, attendees will gain insights into how this lifeline operates within our rural community, its significance, and how it serves as a bridge between individuals in crisis and the necessary support services. The discussion will also include strategies specifically tailored to address challenges unique to rural settings, ensuring that the 988 line can be as effective as possible in saving lives and providing timely assistance.
Additionally, this event will feature a session led by Preferred Family Healthcare on the Behavioral Health Crisis Center. Explore the resources and support systems available through this center, designed to respond to mental health emergencies and provide ongoing care and support to individuals and families.
The evening will culminate with a QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Suicide Prevention training. This training is designed to equip attendees with the skills and confidence needed to effectively intervene in a suicide crisis. By learning to recognize the warning signs of suicide, how to offer hope and how to get help for someone in need, attendees will leave with practical tools that can make a life-saving difference.
By participating in this event, you'll be part of a community-wide effort to improve mental health outcomes and be better prepared to support friends, family, and neighbors experiencing mental health challenges. Join us to build a stronger, more informed, and compassionate community capable of responding with empathy and skill in times of crisis.
