Join Dialogue on Race Louisiana for a two-part, six-hour Facilitator Training. This free and engaging event is perfect for individuals interested in facilitating through the Dialogue on Race facilitation process. Taking place online, you can participate in this national program from the comfort of your own home.

This facilitator training program not only enhances your ability to engage in conversations about racism but can also empower you other aspects of your life. Learn from experienced Dialogue on Race facilitators and gain insights into the unique Dialogue on Race Facilitator process of facilitating engaging and meaningful discussions.

On two Saturdays in February, May, August, or October at 9 am central, you'll explore various facilitation techniques, discover effective ways to guide dialogue, and learn how to raise the level of the conversation that opens a learning pathway for all involved. Whether you're a seasoned facilitator looking to enhance your skills or a beginner eager to start your journey, this event is for you!

Facilitator Training are scheduled for the following dates:

  • February 1st and 8th
  • May 10th and 17th
  • August 9th and 16th
  • October 10th and 18th

While completing the Dialogue on Race Original Series first is encouraged, the Dialogue on Race Louisiana Facilitator Training is open to everyone. As an actice Dialogue on Race Louisiana facilitator, you'll benefit from ongoing support through monthly facilitator practice sessions and enjoy a 25% discount on Dialogue on Race hosted activities. What is Facilitator Training?

The Facilitator Training is a comprehensive program by Dialogue on Race Louisiana to prepare individuals to become skilled facilitators. It's a two-part training designed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to lead dialogues on race sessions effectively.

Who can participate in Facilitator Training? Is Dialogue on Race Louisiana only in Louisiana?

Dialogue on Race Louisiana is a national organization. Whether you're new to Dialogue on Race Louisiana or have participated in a series before, you're welcome to join if you are interested in facilitating through the Dialogue Dialogue on Race process.

Do I need prior experience in facilitation or racial justice work to attend?

No prior experience is required. Dialogue on Race Facilitators are not experts on race, nor do they serve as teachers. That is what is unique about the process; it can be done without experts or teachers.

How long is each training session, and when are they held?

Each training session is three hours long, with the two sessions on separate days. Please refer to the specific dates and times provided in the event details.

Will I receive any materials or resources during the training?

You'll receive a copy of the Dialogue on Race Louisiana Facilitator Training Manual, which contains valuable information and resources for facilitation. Be sure to review the pre-training assignments in the manual before the session.

What is the Dialogue on Race Original Series?

The Original Series is a six-week, two-hour interactive dialogue that follows the throughline of race from its foundation through today. Facilitated by two Dialogue on Race Facilitators, participants unpack the flawed race structure and open a pathway through DORLA’s unique process.
