Northern Dutchess Hospital’s National Diabetes Prevention Program is part of the national program led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In the first 6 months we will meet weekly for an hour and learn about:
- Healthy eating without giving up all the foods you love.
- Adding physical activity into your schedule.
- Dealing with stress.
- Coping with challenges that can derail your progress.
- Getting back on track if you stray for your plan.
Over the course of the next 6 months, we continue to meet weekly, but you have the option to come twice a month. We go over strategies to stay on track and to incorporate all we have learned into a new lifestyle. One that is sustainable for the rest of our lives. Our program has been running continuously successfully for over 10 years. The group setting is a constant support system, one in which you will feel comfortable to share ideas, struggles, goals and most of all successes. All of this is at no cost to you. All you have to do is sign up and commit.
