Celebrate the new exhibit Recuerdos Ilustrados: Día de los Muertos 2025 at the California Museum’s annual Día de los Muertos Fiesta on Sat., Oct. 11!

- Maquilli Tonatiuh Aztec Dancers performance and ceremonial blessing

- Sugar Skull Workshops (advance registration required)
- Mercado de los Muertos featuring pop up shops
- Hands-on activities & face painting for kids (ages 3 & up)

MUSEUM MEMBER TICKETS:
- Individual members receive one free ticket per membership.
- Traveler & Explorer members receive up to two free tickets* per membership.
- There will be a Member Lounge & Terrace available exclusively to Museum members & their guests ONLY. This VIP access comes with each member ticket.
- To claim your free tickets, contact the membership department with your membership number and the names of all individuals in your reservation at membership@californiamuseum.org or (916) 651-0935.
- Members will receive expedited entry at check in and can skip the general admission line upon arrival through a dedicated member-VIP entrance.

MEMBER LOUNGE & TERRACE:
- This year, the VIP Lounge & Terrace will be available to Museum members ONLY. This VIP access comes with each member ticket.
- View the festivities from the courtyard terrace, enjoy complimentary chips and salsa and a non-alcoholic self-serve beverage station, skip the lines at the exclusive terrace bar*, access indoor dining seating, and experience shorter lines for check in and food & drink tickets!
- All ticketed guests, including children 3 and over, must have a VIP/member wristband to enter the VIP section. Children under 3 do not need a wristband if accompanying a ticketed member with a wristband.
*Tacos and alcoholic beverages are not included with VIP Member Lounge & Terrace access and must be purchased separately.

EVENT ENTRY:
- Check-in starts at 5:00 pm on October 11, and event entry starts at 6:00 pm.
- Those with pre-purchased food, drink & workshop tickets will collect them at check-in, avoiding additional lines to purchase.
- Food & drink tickets will also be available for purchase on-site starting at 5:00 pm and are payable with cash, debit and credit card.
- Doors open at 6:00 pm.
- Please bring a printed copy of your ticket OR a digital ticket displayed on a mobile device (cell phone or tablet) to expedite entry.
- Attendees without printed or digital ticket may experience delay in entry and be asked to wait while purchase is verified.
- No large bags. All bags subject to security check.
- Guests purchasing tickets for alcoholic beverages or collecting pre-purchased alcohol tickets must be 21 years of age or older with valid ID.
- No outside food or drinks
CHILDREN:
- All ages are welcome, but every guest must have their own ticket. Children age 2 and under must have their own free ticket. Children age 3 and up must have their own paid ticket.
- Strollers permitted but subject to security check.
- Free hands-on activities for kids ages 3+ will be available.
PHOTOGRAPHY & MEDIA:
- Guests permitted to bring and use non-flash, consumer grade still cameras for personal use only.
- Commercial and/or professional photography and videography strictly prohibited.
- Requests for media credentials may be requested through 5:00 pm on Thurs., Oct. 9 by emailing dwood@californiamuseum.org.
SUGAR SKULL WORKSHOPS:
- Two sessions held at 6:30 and 7:30 pm are available to event ticketholders for a materials fee of $25.
- Limited to a maximum of 36 participants per session.
- Advance workshop tickets provided upon event check-in on Oct. 11.
- If not sold out, workshop tickets will be available for purchase on site.
- Appropriate for ages 5 & older.
FOOD & DRINK TICKETS:
- Advance food & drink ticket purchases strongly recommended to avoid long lines at event.
- You must first purchase an admission ticket to purchase and redeem advance food & drink tickets.
- Food & drink tickets may be added to advance ticket purchases in the “Additional Items” section following name and email address fields on the ticket checkout page. *Listed food & drink prices include fees.
- Choose from:
- Tequila Tasting Ticket 21+ w/ID: Flight of 3 tequilas plus tequila information $40 each
- Taco Plate Ticket: 3 tacos (choice of chicken, beef steak, pork carnitas or vegetarian) by Mayahuel $15 each
- Cocktail Ticket 21+ w/ID: Margarita by Mayahuel $15 each
- Beer Ticket 21+ w/ID: Mexican cerveza by Mayahuel $12 each
- Non-Alcoholic Drink Ticket: Aguas frescas by Mayahuel $9 each
- Snack Ticket: Choice of paletas (fruit popsicles) or esquites (Mexican street corn) by Mayahuel $9 each
- Food & drink tickets also can be purchased at the event and are payable by cash, debit and credit card.
- Bottled water and snack items (chips, candy, cookies) will be available for purchase at the Museum Store pop-up in the courtyard.
REFUNDS:
- Tickets may be refunded, minus Eventbrite fees, until 5:00 pm on Oct. 10 by requesting a refund through an Eventbrite account.
- Sorry, no refunds provided after 5:00 pm on Fri., Oct. 10.
PARKING & DIRECTIONS:
- The Bonderson Garage (Lot 24) directly across the street from the Museum on the corner of 10th & O Streets offers a $3 flat rate (accepts credit cards or cash) for those arriving after 5:00 pm. Garage closes at 11:30 p.m. Cars remaining in the garage after 11:30 p.m. cannot be retrieved until Monday.
- Metered street parking is available around the Museum. Please visit City of Sacramento Parking Services for more information.
- Bike parking is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

MERCADO DE LOS MUERTOS:
- Applications from local or regional vendors to sell hand-made and/or unique art, crafts and gift items at the event will be accepted through Sat., August 31.
- Booth space is limited with priority given to local and regional artists and artisans.
- Retail stores and corporate businesses will not be accepted.
