Who should register?

U.S. citizens committed to serving the Department in support of achieving the freedom, prosperity, and democratic rule that the U.S. Constitution promotes, and the American public deserves.

Do I have to attend in person?

Yes. This is an in-person event only. You will not be able to attend virtually, nor will we be able to accept resumes by email. We encourage anyone who cannot attend in person to visit us at www.dhs.gov/careers to learn more about our current opportunities available.

Do I need to attend both days?

No, you are not required to attend both days. The format for both days are similar and will offer the same law enforcement career opportunities. If you are unable to attend in-person or plan on attending only one of the two days but registered for both, please cancel or adjust registration.

What should I bring?

• Plenty of Copies of your Resume (Printers will not be available on-site.) • Two forms of identification • Statement of Service, if still on active duty • VA Disability Letter (if applicable) • DD-214 (if applicable) • Transcripts (if applicable) • Schedule A Letter (if applicable)

What forms of ID are accepted?

Two forms of identification that are Real ID-compliant are required for all attendees. Digital IDs are not acceptable. Find more information on IDs here: https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/publications/dhs_piv_card_acceptable_identity_source_documents.pdf.

Are bags allowed?

To help assist with the security process, we recommend that bags not be brought into the venue. If you do require a bag, please bring a small bag with only essential items.

Will I have to go through security screening?

All event attendees will be required to pass through a magnetometer as part of our security check. To help expedite entrance, please ensure any metal objects (wallets, keys, phones, and belts) are removed from your pockets/body prior to entering.

What should I expect as I go through security?

You will be directed to pass through a magnetometer. If you pass through a magnetometer and the alarm is triggered, you will be further screened by a hand-held magnetometer. Please be advised, no weapons will be allowed, to include guns, knives, pepper/OC spray, etc.

What if I have a reasonable accommodation?

All candidates requiring a reasonable accommodation should note it during the registration process. Once on-site at the event, candidates should report to the line dedicated for Reasonable Accommodations.

What should I expect if I receive a tentative job offer during the event?

Congratulations on receiving a tentative job offer! We are excited about the possibility of you joining our team. Please be aware that as part of our hiring process, all candidates who receive a tentative job offer during the event may be required to complete a drug test on-site.

Can I come outside of the window of the timed-entry slot I selected?

Candidates will only be allowed to enter the facility during their scheduled registration time. Please do not arrive earlier than 30 minutes prior to the timed entry slot notated on your ticket.

When is the latest I can arrive to the event?

All candidates should be in line prior to 5:00 pm on Monday, and 3:00pm on Tuesday. No candidates will be allowed to enter the venue after those times. The event will close to all candidates one hour following the conclusion of last time slot of the day.

Is there parking at or near the location?

Public transportation and ride share services to the event are encouraged. Parking is available for a fee at the venue. Please visit the website (https://utahvalleycc.com/parking/) for more information on parking and transportation options.

How should I prepare for the event?

The event includes an onsite Find & Apply Candidate Application Center. In preparation for the event, attendees should have a USAJobs account created and updated with your most recent resume and supplemental documentation prior to attending.
