Dexter Dynamo (he/him) is a mixed media multiple disciplinary artist settled on the unceded, ancestral territories of the xwməθkwəyə̓ m (Musqueam), Sḵwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and ̱səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Dexter’s art is derived from a passion for creative exploration in texture, colour, and light.
He takes pride in embracing absurdity and collecting new ideas to his ever-updating collection of motifs. The subject matter leans into expressive character depictions of surreal dysmorphic faces in a matter that blends mechanical textures with organic figures. His commonly used materials include acrylic paint, vintage magazine paper, oil pastel, coloured markers, and chalk.
