Join NCAC Fulbrighters for a timely discussion on development, including an interactive site walking tour, in Northern Virginia on Saturday, April 13, starting at 8:30am.

During this seminar and site walking tour, you will find out about the timeline and overall impact of Amazon's major investment. Come learn first-hand how the mechanics of advanced technology growth results in the shaping of our region's economic health and ways that economic benefits (or costs) diffuse across widely varying neighborhoods.

The featured speaker for the seminar is Professor Stephen Fuller, who is widely regarded as the authority on the Washington, DC regional economy and from the outset followed Amazon’s development decision. After the seminar, you can join a guided walking tour of the Alexandria VA Tech campus and nearby Metro sites. The walking tour will be docented by Mr. Dirk Geratz, Principal Planner for the City of Alexandria and responsible for guiding the development surrounding these public investments.

Registration for this event includes breakfast. This dynamic program will take place in two locations: breakfast and the seminar discussion will be held at George Mason's Arlington campus, and the guided walking tour will be held in Alexandria. Please make arrangements for transportation and parking on your own. When possible, organizers will try to accommodate for ride-sharing between GMU Arlington campus and the guided site tour in Alexandria.
