About this Event

What's an ally?

An ally is a person who belongs to a dominant group and consistently takes action to challenge the status quo in order to promote inclusiveness and social justice. During these extraordinary times where people are becoming aware (or more aware) of racial, social, and structural injustices, the need to actively support marginalized groups has increased. People want to do more and be effective in their support and advocacy. It's often hard to know the best ways to do this - and that's okay. People will make mistakes during their journey as an ally, but they don't have to figure this out all alone.

During this interactive workshop, Kanesha will lead participants in a safe and exploratory session focused on:

Becoming an ally

Expanding your ally lexicon

Listening for understanding

Building your "disrupter" skills

Increasing your wellness tool

[This workshop will take place via Zoom]
