Evansville Leaders,

We'd like to invite you to join an important conversation: What makes a city flourish? We believe it happens when every person in that city achieves the fruitfulness for which God made him or her. As Paul says in Ephesians 2:10, we are God's handiwork, created for good works that he laid out for us to do. Reformer Martin Luther sums it up like this: "God does not need your good works, but your neighbor does." But what is good work, and what does your good work have to do with citywide flourishing?

The Developing Evansville Series is for people who get up every day and contribute to the ecosystem of our community through the arts, business, education, government, media, and healthcare. Our city is dependent on the success or failure of these channels of culture. In this series, we'll explore key questions about how our vocation (calling) is the way we love our neighbor and the way we transform our city to reflect the kind of city God wants it to be.

Geoff Hsu is a founder of Flourish San Diego, which exists to help people recover and infuse a robust understanding of work, calling, and vocation into daily their practice. Geoff will help us see how our work provides community value and individual purpose, helping our city flourish. Geoff will provide some new lenses to view our work, our city, and the mission of God.

We'll also have the chance to meet others from our industry and other channels of culture over lunch, looking out over the Ohio River from the Legacy Room in Old National Bank on Wednesday, September 26th from 11:30am-1:00pm.

Most importantly, we hope you'll choose to take some time out of your schedule because you'll leave with a greater recognition that what you do every day matters in God's kingdom and is essential to the development of Evansville.
