Desire Dojo- step in, ask, play

By Amy Hubbard, flame tender at The Living Altar

Overview

A training ground for embodied desire—learn consent, negotiate boundaries, and playfully step into the ring of authentic connection.

Step into an evening where play and movement are inspired by your deepest embodied desires, where it’s safe to explore your shy and demure parts and the bold, ravishing, take-charge parts. All of you is welcome here.

This is a sensual, non-sexual workshop that begins with learning and practicing touch and asking and leads to an open wrestling mat where you can ask for the play or nuturing touch you wish to experience.

You can come single or you can come coupled. You can stay with the one you came with for the touch practices or practice with others or on yourself. You can even come and just take in the amazing vibes and create your own experience that supports the container.
We first we sit in concentric circles to learn and then practice elemental touch, then the basics of the wheel of consent (give/receive, take/surrender), then flowing together, then resistance play and then you're invited to negotiate play or touch with one other person and then the ring is open for you to step in and ask for the play or touch you'd like to experience. Each "match" is between 1-3 minutes and a custom song is picked out for you're specific desire.

There have been epic inch worm battles narrated with Australian accents, bodies that become jungle gyms, hilarious sock wrestling, 20 hand massages that melt the receiver into a puddle, and even bodies picked up and stretched, each limb lovingly pulled by others.

This is the time and place to bring your audacious ask:

· To be held, To hold,

· To be met with strength,

· To tumble in playful struggle,

· To explore your strength or surrender.

Here, “winning” is irrelevant, co-creation is the true win. The practice is keeping the play alive—discovering strength without force, surrender without collapse, and desire without manipulation. Both partners emerge victorious through shared expression, discovery, and connection.

Some will choose to watch. Some will step in. All will walk away clearer, braver, and more embodied in their yes, their no, and their want.

Whether you choose to watch, to practice negotiation, or to step fully into the ring—you will walk away clearer, braver, and more embodied in your yes, your no, and your want.

This is not wrestling. This is Desire Dojo—a training ground for consent, intimacy, and unapologetic play.

7pm-10pm: The Wheel of Consent, Elemental Touch and Embodied Desire Play

All feelings are welcome here. This is a sensual, not sexual container. If sexual energy arises, you are invited to feel it fully within yourself—to circulate and explore it in your own body. What we do not allow is projecting, suggesting, or attempting to charge another with your arousal. Integrity of the space depends on this. Clothing is optional on top, but bottoms stay on at all times. This boundary keeps the dojo safe, respectful, and fully dedicated to sensual but not sexual embodied desire, consent, and play.
