Designing Restorative Justice Programs in Higher Education

DESCRIPTION: This 2-day intensive training provides higher education professionals with the tools, frameworks, and strategies to design and evaluate restorative justice (RJ) programs responsive to campus communities' unique needs. Participants will engage in hands-on design labs, explore real-world case studies, and build evaluation plans to ensure RJ efforts are data-informed, equitable, and sustainable. The training also explores how RJ can be applied within student conduct processes, campus safety initiatives, and conflict resolution practices. It emphasizes addressing harm in ways that center victims' needs, promote meaningful accountability, and support rebuilding relationships within college and university communities.
This training will be facilitated in a virtual-circle Zoom meeting format. Participants will receive a Zoom meeting link and training materials a few days prior to the training.
