Imagine taking 3D photograph of anything in the world to capture a 3D model that can be used in video games, CG in films, or even 3D printed into a duplicate real world object!  This idea is a reality with 3D scanning technology!  From laser scanners for handheld items to wand scanners for full humans or larger items, photogrammetry to structured light scanning, we'll cover the range of techniques that exist today for scanning pretty much anything imaginable.

This class will teach you the fundamentals of using a few of the five different 3D scanners we have here at the shop as well as show you a few techniques you can use on your own at home using nothing more than a smartphone or off the shelf electronics like the kinect.  Get ready to enter the exciting digital world of 3D scanning!
