Design Better, Faster: A Hands-On Figma Workshop Taught by Jason Andrews
Join us at the OrangeWorks Innovation Lab for an engaging, hands-on Figma workshop led by Jason Andrews. You’ll learn how to design more efficiently and build dynamic, scalable interfaces using modern Figma techniques. This two-hour session is structured around focused blocks of instruction and practice, with the intent of covering topics such as:
- Auto Layout for flexible, responsive design
- Color and typography styles
- Reusable components with variants and variables
- Enhancing components with interactions and hover states
- Editing and managing design styles across a system
- Creating scrollable, interactive prototypes
Each attendee will receive a working Figma file to complete exercises throughout the session. You’ll take home a copy of the file to continue developing your skills. Whether you're new to Figma or looking to level up your skills, this workshop will help you build with more clarity and confidence. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn by doing and take your design system game to the next level!
Light refreshments will be provided. Parking is on your own. Volunteers will be available for individual support. You will need to bring your own laptop, power supply, and a display cable if you'd like to connect to a monitor. Finally, make sure to create a Figma account for yourself before you arrive if you don't have one already so you don't have to scramble to set one up during the workshop.
