About this event
The distributed energy resource (DER) strategy committee finalized a DER strategy that will serve as the foundation from which DER integration solutions will be considered, evaluated and implemented via collaboration between Platte River Power Authority and its owner communities of Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland.
The committee will lead a presentation of the strategy followed by a summary of the next steps and a Q&A session for participants.
About the DER strategy committee
Platte River and its owner communities’ utilities of Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland worked together for more than a year and took stakeholder input to develop the strategy. The strategy will drive the ability to successfully integrate DERs that will play an important role in achieving the goals of Platte River’s Resource Diversification Policy. The policy calls for a 100% noncarbon energy mix by 2030 provided that it can be done in a manner that is reliable, environmentally responsible and financially sustainable.
DERs include energy efficiency, demand response, distributed generation, distributed energy storage and beneficial electrification. To learn more about these technologies and the goals of the committee, visit prpa.org/der.
