About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

Join Verville Preservation for a half-day workshop on repairing drywall and plaster. We will work in the dining room of the historic Masonic Hall building downtown Hillsborough.

Some of the subjects we'll cover include:

⁃ A brief history of the 200-year-old building

⁃ Choosing when drywall or plaster is the appropriate material

⁃ Understanding strengths and weaknesses of the two materials

⁃ Hands-on repairs of cracked plaster and drywall

⁃ Methods for patching larger holes

⁃ How to eliminate sanding

This workshop is limited to 15 participants. Verville Preservation will provide some tools, but bring your own putty knives, trowels, and pans or hawks if you have them.

Cost is $20 person. One hundred percent of the funds raised will go to Historic Eagle Lodge Foundation, a 501c3 that supports preservation of Hillsborough’s Masonic Hall.
