Demystifying Death: Informed Beginnings Make Peaceful Endings
When and where
Date and time
Tuesday, October 23, 2018 · 6 - 8pm CDT
Location
The Coven 30 North 1st Street Minneapolis, MN 55401
Description
“How strange this fear of death is! We are never frightened at a sunset.”
- George MacDonald, scholar & author
Well George, quotes are nice, but as boss witches, most of us want facts & options to help us decide on a course of action. And when it comes to death & dying, facts can be a little hard to come by. Death is a topic that so many of us were raised to avoid talking about, or perhaps only discuss in whispers. As we approach a time of year full up of traditions related to honoring our past and reflecting on what’s to come, The Coven is proud to present “Demystifying Death” - an open forum to provide information about:
-
Legal documents that can help your loved ones feel confident in honoring your wishes and attending to your affairs & how those documents are used after death
-
Resources that can make planning for long term care less overwhelming
-
Conscious dying choices and how to carry your values through your end of life
-
Conflict resolution paths related to family conflict that can arise around death & dying
The Coven welcomes our lawyer friends Emily Buchholz from Davis Law Office and Brenna Galvin from Maser Law as well as conscious dying and conflict resolution practitioners Leora and Eli Effinger-Weintraub for a short program and an open Q&A.
This event is co-ed and open to the public!
