Are the movies right that when things go south we need an old priest, a young priest, and some holy water to drive out demons? Or have we hyped up evil spirits well beyond what's real? Is Satan real? Is he trying to hurt us? Or have we just made a boogeyman out of that concept? When Jesus was casting out demons, were they actual entities that possessed people or mental illness and disease that the people at that time didn't yet understand?
Join us as we explore the realm of the devil and ask what's real, what's not, and how do these ideas affect our everyday lives?
We'll hear from:
Christian physicalist, Chris Henderson, who has a Masters degree in Theology, has taught Christian Apologetics for 20 years, and has been in ministry for 25 years as both a youth pastor and worship minister. He considers himsefl an obsessive lifelong learner and follower of Jesus.
Jim Stern, who has served on the front lines of the Kingdom, whether in lead pastor or para-church ministry, for 27 years. He started Trexo in 2013 to, in part, set people free to run God's race in the overflow of His love.
A nd then, as usual, after the presentation, we'll have a large format group discussion where you can text your own questions in to our larger panel of pastors and professors, all while enjoying delicious craft beer!
