What to expect

With housing affordability being an urgent challenge across Europe, the European Commission is responding through the forthcoming Affordable Housing Plan, complemented by a European Strategy for Housing Construction aimed at strengthening the construction ecosystem. As the industry seeks more efficient ways to collect, manage and share building data along the value chain, Digital Building Logbooks (DBLs) have emerged as a targeted solution to the sector’s longstanding data challenges. Given their wide-ranging benefits, including improved energy performance, enhanced public health, greater resource efficiency and transparency, as well as better risk assessment and financing options across the construction value chain, DBLs present a compelling case for broader policy integration and more widespread adoption across the sector.
