He’s spent a lot of time playing Johnny Cash in acclaimed theatre productions and it’s evident he has fused his spirit with the legend.
Seals poses the question: “What would Johnny Cash cover if he was alive today?” Fortunately, we got an initial glimpse into the answer before he died with those incredible Rick Rubin recordings. Seals takes it several steps further with far-reaching nuggets from Phish, Portishead, Kendrick Lamar, Elton John and even the “Hamilton” soundtrack. Until you see him leave, you can’t fully appreciate the way he weaves all of these songs into signature medleys. It enhances their impact while taking audiences on a joyous ride.
