Farzad Husain & Pau Montserrat – Semantic Search with LLMs: Building a Better Search Experience
Farzad Husain is a PhD-trained ML researcher with 15 years of experience developing and deploying machine perception and deep learning systems.
Pau Montserrat is a Senior ML Engineer with over eight years of experience across NLP, ranking, and time-series modelling. He has led data teams, co-founded AInvestor, and continues to publish cutting-edge AI projects on his GitHub.
At Taizen, they work on turning unstructured customer language (calls, reviews, feedback) into structured, searchable insight — helping companies discover patterns, themes, and signals hidden in their own data.
Their talk will explore how semantic search with LLMs is designed, optimised, and scaled to build faster, more accurate, and more human-aware search experiences.

Marti Llopart – From Supercomputers to Real Products: What Speech Technologies Teach Us About Applied AI
Marti Llopart is a Deep Learning Engineer at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, specialising in optimising language and speech models for high-performance environments. His work spans model efficiency, parallelisation, and inference optimisation.
With published research cited by Nature and experience collaborating with Databricks and BSC’s Language Technologies Unit, Marti bridges the gap between scientific computing and deployable AI systems.
In this talk, he brings a practical view into how speech technologies evolve from research prototypes to production systems — and why accuracy is only a small part of the story.
