Decentralized Web SF Meet Up—February
Event Information
Description
Get out of the cold and feel the warm community of the SF DWeb Meet Up. If decentralization, distributed technologies and blockchain are your jam, this is the Meet Up for you. Come meet other devs working in the space and see some decentralized web projects-in-progress.
Up this month: the latest innovations by Peter van Hardenberg, who will present "Farm," an open-source shared, decentralized programming environment from Ink & Switch labs. (You may recall their Pixelpusher product, a kind-of decentralized Google Docs for collaborative drawing.) Jarod Holtz will be sharing the opportunities to build on Holochain. Holochain is not a blockchain, but rather a new framework for running truly P2P applications. AND we'll start off the evening with a look at HBO's Silicon Valley producer, Jonathan Dotan's latest project with the Steven Spielberg's Shoah Foundation and USC's Visual History Archive: dTestimony Initiative—Creating a decentralized and immutable ledger of genocide testimony.
PLUS: We'll provide pizza and beer!
