DC127 Workshop - Making Room: Grief and Loss as a Foster Parent

One significant source of challenge for resource parents is experiencing grief stemming from a foster child leaving their care. They can also face barriers that might hinder their ability to grieve well, such as cultural expectations and limited training. In this interactive presentation clinical psychologist, Dr. Krishtine Rosenthal, will facilitate exploration of aspects of grief and loss experienced by resource parents. Emphasis will be placed on identifying strategies for more wholistically and mindfully responding to loss and grief. Finally, there will be opportunities to practice applying strategies discussed in the workshop though discussion of case scenarios.
