“Let the Laughter Begin” The Denton Black Film Festival invites you to compete in its Inaugural Comedy Competition event. The comedy competition will span two nights. All contestants must be 18 years or older to compete and the qualifications are simple. If you think you are a comedian and have the $20 entry fee you can enter. The audience will let you know if you’re really a comedian or not. You’ll have 3 minutes to impress the panel of 3 judges as well as the audience. All contestants will be judged on Originality, Stage Presence and Crowd Response.

Round One will allow up to 25 contestants. The field will be whittled down to 7 Finalists for Round Two, which will take place the following evening (Saturday, January 25 @ 7pm- Same location). The 7 Finalists will perform 10 minutes each. Three prizes will be awarded by our host, Darryl Littleton (aka D’Militant), who will do a stand up set while the votes are tabulated after the last comedian performs. There will be a Grand Prize Winner of 500 dollars, Runner Up 250 dollars and a 3rd Place Award of 150 dollars. So bring your jokes and your audience for two great nights of laughter!
