This 6-week journey is part walking apprenticeship, part spiritual garden school — rooted in Indigenous land reverence, folk herbalism, elemental ecology, and energetic connection with plant beings

Drop-ins and pay-as-you-go options are welcome! Join us whenever you can—flexible attendance supports your unique path in the class. No arrangements necessary, pay upon arrival. You can choose one single day class pass option (:

Each week explores seasonal herbs (organized A–Z), animist practice, and land-based creativity, combining visits to private and public green spaces with inner reflection and hands-on exploration.

Participants will:
🌿 Learn to commune with plant spirits and add to a personal materia medica or grimoire
🌀 Practice biodynamic and intuitive land tending
🏡 Build fairy houses, altars, and relationship with elemental forces
🧪 Craft water-based soil preparations from local materials
🌞 Deepen their inner ecology through Earth-based ritual and study

Expect: a blend of intuitive herbalism, regenerative arts, land listening, folklore, and practical garden sorcery.

You’ll receive a printable workbook, weekly location updates, and invitations to local hikes and visits to hidden gardens and sacred spaces.

Open to all levels. This is not a commercial gardening class — it’s a living, breathing study of land, mystery, and medicine.

What is the Garden Path Apprenticeship about?

This apprenticeship offers a deep dive into herbalism, Devic science, alchemical arts, plant spirit connection, indigenous practices, land restoration, and biodynamic methods. It blends cross-sectional arts, channeling, and esoteric studies focused on healing the land and connecting with the unseen

When and where are the classes held?

Classes take place every Sunday from May 25 to June 29, each lasting about one hour. The in-person sessions happen in a garden space in Virgil Village, Los Angeles. Online students join live via Zoom. Hybrid participation options are available.

Who can join the apprenticeship?

The program is open to anyone 18 and older, regardless of experience level. Whether you are a beginner or have prior knowledge, this apprenticeship is designed to support your growth.

What will I learn during the apprenticeship?

A variety of land healing techniques are explored, plant identification and medicine preparation, Devic and fairy communication, indigenous and biodynamic practices, esoteric and alchemical studies, and much more. Apprenticeship culminates in a personalized herbal compendium/grimoire, performance.

Are there any prerequisites?

No prerequisites are required. Come with curiosity and an open heart.

What is the cost and how can I pay?

Sliding scale $33 for one day drop-ins and half course-load is $333-$111 sliding scale. If you have missed a day or days there will be make ups in the future. In some special instances payment details and arrangements can be made by contacting the organizer directly at ancientpocket@gmail.com.

Is there a refund policy?

Refunds are not available except in the rare case the instructor must cancel a class and no reschedule is agreed upon.

What do I need to bring?

For in-person classes, bring any personal tools or journals you wish to use, comfortable clothing for outdoor learning, and an open mind. Online students will need a reliable internet connection and a quiet space to participate.

How do I participate online?

Remote apprentices join via Zoom. A link and any necessary materials will be sent after registration.

Can I attend only some of the classes?

You’re welcome to join even if you can’t attend all 5 sessions. Same day drop ins are welcome. Remote options, recordings, and catch-up materials will be provided when possible for those wanting fuller class package. You’re welcome to join even if you can’t make every session.

Do you offer payment plans?

Are there scholarships or reparative pricing options?

Yes. There are a couple spaces reserved at graduated cost or sliding scale for specifically for Indigenous, Black, and Disabled community members. Contact us to inquire.

Yes. Sliding scale tiers are offered to support different financial access points. We also reserve a few spots for reparative or reduced-cost participation. Reach out to inquire.

Is this a typical gardening or herbalism course?
